The Christmas season is chock-full of fun times! There are Christmas Musicals, Christmas Parties, Christmas Services, Christmas shopping. At each one of these, there are so many people to see and spend time with. Wow! How will we get it all done? There does not seem like there is enough time in the day to complete everything that is put before us sometimes. In the midst of our busy holiday schedules, it can be easy to forget that there are those in our community who have very few friends or family to visit with them.
I visited with a lady last week who is homebound and her list of things to do was not that extensive. She was encouraged to see us. She said she was lonely and asked if I knew of those who would come sing Christmas songs in her home. She asked if others could come visit and read the Bible with her.
She does not get out often, so she asked if we would at least video what we were doing to come show her and she could show others in her condition. How many people are sitting in their home on a weekly basis just wishing someone would come by and visit them? Most of the time people need someone to listen to them and talk with them.
We know of individuals and families that could use a heartwarming visit any time of year, but especially during this Christmas season. Please contact us if you would like to be involved in going to visit someone at their home. It’s a fantastic way to serve!
