Have you ever seen the supernatural hand of God at the moment you needed it?
Setbacks and challenges plagued Nehemiah and the Israelites as they worked diligently along the wall. Discouragement through Sanballat and Tobiah riddled the fatigued Israelites and soon these became death threats. They continued praying and working with an eye towards their security and safety.
Nehemiah’s next challenge came through Shemaiah who tried convincing him to seek refuge in the temple and protect his life. Seeing through this smoke screen, Nehemiah refused and set his endeavor even further to finish the work.
As we do God’s work, we will face challenges. Discouragement, fatigue, risk, even danger may come in many shapes and forms. Yet the work must continue. The workers and remnant from Israel were poor with few resources. Nehemiah galvanized them into a team who looked out for each other as they rebuilt the city wall and their homes. We too have an incredible opportunity to come around and serve with others; rebuilding walls of safety, security, and stability. God performed a miraculous feat-the wall was finished in 52 days! Wow…when God works through us, His glory is manifested! Let’s ensure whatever challenges come our way, we depend on God and allow Him to strengthen our hands for the work.
